James (Jay) McGinnis is committed to helping leaders in high reliability organizations reduce burnout and improve employee retention by developing a more resilient culture within the organizations they lead. A former medic with the United States Army Special Forces, a team leader with the United States Special Operations Command, and an emergency medicine Physician Assistant, Jay has extensive experience building, training, and leading high-performance teams that both conduct and support high stress/high stakes operations. He has a demonstrated understanding of the human capacity for adaptation and a proven record of building teams that can succeed in an environment clouded by uncertainty and prone to disruption. Since retiring from the Army he has served as the program director for Health Intervention and Disaster Response at the George Washington University and as the director of mid-level providers for Johns Hopkins Emergency Medical Services in Columbia, Maryland. Jay holds a doctoral degree in Human and Organizational Learning and is the founder and Executive Director of the Institute for Resilience-Centered Leadership.
